HGV - Class 1 Driver

My very well established client based in the heart of Trafford Park, Manchester is a Freight Forwarder operating throughout the UK they  specialise in container sea freight and air freight imports and exports along with domestic transport and warehousing.

I am  currently looking for HGV Class 1 driver to join their growing business, based out of their Trafford Park site. The role involves collection and deliveries of containers or loose cargo/pallet loads to and from various sites across the UK and liaising with the traffic office team and will inc. nights out Monday to Friday/Saturday

Role and responsibilities:

• Completing daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects, ensuring that your vehicle is roadworthy and presentable to Company standards
• Compliance with all legislation including driver’s hours and highway regulations
• Duty of care to self and colleagues
• Maintenance of mandatory driver/vehicle records
• Provide customers with the highest level of service
• Excellent awareness and understanding of Health and Safety.

Person Specifications

The ideal candidate will have:

• A valid HGV Class 1 Licence ( 2 years’ experience minimum)
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card
• A valid Driver CPC
• Clean driving licence preferable
• Experience in the use of skeletal trailer and curtain siders
• Knowledge of container logistics would be an advantage but is not essential as training will be provided for the right candidate.
