We have an exciting opportunity for an air freight pricing specialist to join our client's prestigious team.
Reporting to one of the UK Commercial Air Freight Managers the Air Freight Commercial Support Coordinator is to assist and support the current Air Freight Pricing Procurement team to improve service levels and to enhance our clients' customer service levels in providing Freight Quotations to Potential customers, the Sales Team, UK offices and their Global Network within the set designated time frame in accordance with the KPI’s, logging and recording all quotations and monitoring the outcome of our Freight Quotations for analysing success rates and what improvements can be achieved
Financial/Commercial
- To provide support where appropriate to promote the aligned Carrier Preference and ensure that service and profitability are not jeopardized.
- Procurement and Carrier relationships - working closely with the UK Commercial Manager, our clients Network, Procurement teams and UK Branch Managers to assist negotiate freight contracts and issue desk quotations in a timely manner in line with our KPI of 24-hour response.
- Procurement and Carrier relationships development - analysing and maintaining up to date tariffs for inland haulage
- Negotiating all LCL rates with Co Loaders and Carriers, and monitoring competitiveness on an ongoing basis.
- Providing analysis and feedback and making recommendations for additions, changes, and enhancements through continuous improvement of our Ocean Procurement product.
- Guide and support UK Import & Export functions, across UK Sea Freight locations with regards to Procurement and Global Tenders
- Issue all Freight quotations within a 24-hour period of receipt of enquiry, both internal and external.
- Monitoring customers volumes on an ongoing basis and highlighting any unusual trends to management
- Generate airfreight quotations to support regular and /or spot pricing enquires
• Ensure that the most competitive solution is offered, on all requests for new business to the Team
• Completing Tenders for the Global tender team.
• Follow up / Update the Rate Management system with data from Sales Staff / Network offices
Operational
- Use of Internal Freight Management System, Microsoft Packages (Word/Excel/Outlook) & Telephone.
- Liaison with the UK and Global colleagues (Sales and Operations) to offer guidance and support on any rate enquiries and advice on the most suitable carrier options.
- Handling all RFQ and Rate enquiries from overseas colleagues and Global Network.
- Working with the CS Manager in achieving or improving the company CS in accordance with their quality management policies and requirements.
- Performance monitoring, recording, analysing and distributing Freight Quotation and Liner information to UK offices
- Work collaboratively with all UK Import & Export departments to support the delivery of operational excellence and service to customers.
- Prioritising Workload in accordance with deadlines & KPI’s.
Customer Service
- Ensure Accurate and timely issuing of Freight quotations within a 24-hour period of receipt.
- Follow up on issues quotations for all UK branches.
Salary is £25k -30K DOE + Excellent benefits.
